This cake, made for a family gathering, was definitely a little experimental. The orange-scented yellow cake was filled with mascarpone cream and fresh raspberries, and, while it was delicious, I feel like that particular recipe could still use a little tweaking.
The chocolate nests, however, came out exactly as I wanted. Made from vermicelli and pate a glacier, they remind me of the pine straw nests our house wren builds in the garage each spring.
